Best Clans will be temporarily closing soon

The Best Clans section of our site will be closing indefinitely while new, integrated software is being developed to fulfill its role.
As many of you may have noticed, the software we're currently using has begun to behave quite erratically in regards to how it ranks participating clans. It seems it is no longer ranking clans by the number of votes they've received, but instead it is now ranking clans in some unknown order.
My first theory was that there was some sort of setting which involved the option to either "rank by votes" or "rank arbitrarily" within the software, and that "rank arbitrarily" became selected for no understandable reason. That didn't pan out. My second theory was that the software, after so many years, achieved sentience and ranked the clans in an order in which it perceived to be the best. I found the last theory impossible to prove. Nonetheless, I was able to convince myself of this by presenting a slew of hypothetical evidence.
Whatever the case, I'm sure a clean reinstallation of the software we've licensed for that particular section of our site would cure it, and perhaps prevent world domination à la Skynet, or we can simply prioritize the development of our own software, which is integrated with the rest of our site and includes more features and more security, and which is already in our sights. The latter will be the most efficient route, and since I know how much many of the clans here like participating in this competition, it will be moved to the front of our development queue.
The Best Clans system will remain active until Friday, October 23rd, when it will be taken down, so please take this time to remove any Best Clans voting links on your clan's web site, take a screenshot of your clan's impressive stats, or whatever it is you need to do before this iteration of Best Clans is gone for good. If the voting link happened to fill a crucial spot in your site's content, it's easily replaced by one of our standard links or even our Seal of Approval.
In closing, I want to apologize for the downtime Best Clans will be experiencing in the coming months and I hope this temporary closure does not present too much inconvenience to those who have enjoyed consistently participating.
